Who Can Join

LOMBOK 400KM is open to all Indonesian citizens as well as foreign citizens residing and/or visiting Indonesia, who are at least 17 (seventeen) years of age at the start of the race. Although it is called a “race,” the LOMBOK 400KM route is designed to embrace the spirit of adventure and exploration in cycling. Distance and elevation are not the ultimate goals, but rather a medium to achieve the real objective: inviting participants to experience the beauty of Lombok Island.

There is no intention of making LOMBOK 400KM the “hardest” or “most extreme” event, reserved only for elite athletes. However, it is expected that cyclists joining LOMBOK 400KM already have sufficient cycling experience and/or a reasonable level of fitness.

There is no definite formula to predict whether a cyclist can complete LOMBOK 400KM. Still, here are some narratives that may help:

  • If you are comfortable cycling more than 150 km in one ride and/or regularly cycle more than 250 km in a week, then LOMBOK 400KM could be the next exciting challenge for you.
  • If you have taken part in ultra-distance or multi-sport events such as Ironman, ultra-trail running, Audax 400, ultra-cycling, or other endurance competitions, LOMBOK 400KM may suit your abilities.

If you come from a background in other endurance sports—such as marathons or trail running—but are new to cycling or rarely ride, you may already have the strength and stamina. But ask yourself: Do you have the necessary skills and confidence to ride safely in open public traffic?

Another important factor is whether you enjoy and can endure long hours of riding in solitude. LOMBOK 400KM must be completed either solo or in pairs, without any assistance from the organizers or support teams. If you are used to group rides or dislike riding alone, it would be wise to practice solo cycling before deciding to register.

LOMBOK 400KM is a challenging long-distance cycling journey that promises an unforgettable experience. At the same time, we acknowledge that LOMBOK 400KM is not for everyone. Still, it upholds the principle that cycling is for all—regardless of distance, speed, or terrain. To be a cyclist, you don’t have to ride hundreds of kilometers, climb steep hills, or sit in the saddle for ten hours straight.

As long as you ride your bike—near or far, on the road or on trails—you are a cyclist, and we celebrate you.
